Tyson Fury To “knuckle Down In Training,” Confirms Oleksandr Usyk Fight Is “definitely” On For April 29th
By Brian Webber: Tyson Fury confirmed that his fight with Oleksandr Usyk is “definitely” on for April 29th, and he will “knuckle down” on his training beginning tomorrow for their undisputed heavyweight championship fight at Wembley Stadium in London.
Fury didn’t say whether the contracts have been signed for the fight and if Usyk has removed the rematch clause language in the contract per his request. If Fury loses the fight, he might regret removing the rematch clause because he might be out of luck in getting the opportunity to try and avenge the defeat immediately.
Usyk would be in demand after beating Fury, and he could make more money fighting Anthony Joshua again or Deontay Wilder. The Saudis would jump at the chance to stage Usyk vs. Joshua or Wilder in their country.
Fury going on social media blackout
WBC champion Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) admits that he’s enjoyed “terrorizing” IBF, WBA & WBO champ Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and his team this week, but he needs to get focused on his training now to get ready for the fight, which is only seven weeks away.
Fury will only have roughly six weeks to prepare, and that’s not enough time for him to prepare for a fighter of Usyk’s ability. There aren’t a lot of heavyweights that can mimic Usyk’s style because if they had that ability, they wouldn’t be working as sparring partners.
Hopefully, Fury can get in proper shape for the fight and show well against Usyk. We know that Fury will use his short training camp as an excuse if he loses to Usyk, and his fans will give him a free pass.
“Hi guys, as fun as it’s been over the last few days terrorizing Usyk and his team, tomorrow, I’m going to knuckle down into training camp, and I’ll be doing a blackout as I always do on social media,” said Tyson Fury on Twitter.

“I’ll be running my Instagram account, giving you updates on my training progress about how everything is going. April 29 is definitely a worker, and I’ll see you all on the night. Tune in or be there and be square,” Fury continued.
“The fight of the century between two undefeated world champions throwing down to see who the #1 is in the division, the undisputed world heavyweight championship on the line. Peace out. Good training to Usyk. May the best man win,” said Fury.
