Sri Lanka CEO on League

Sri Lanka CEO Ashley de Silva announced the new league. “Next year also we will have the LPL in December, but going forward we have reserved a window in August for that. So for next year, we will have the Lanka T10 in June and the LPL in December, but from 2024 onwards, the T10 tournament will move to December and the LPL to August.” said Ashley de Silva

Great Chance for Youngsters

The Lanka T10 league can prove to be the stepping stone for youngsters. UAE T10 league has shown that the format is quite interesting as there is a fascinating contest between bat and ball as most of the time batters dictate the terms. A lot of Lankan Cricketers were the first ones to participate in the UAE T10 league and they made the league quite entertaining.

T10 league is a bit frustrating for the bowlers as they are always at the receiving end because of the pitches. It would be interesting to see how this league unfolds as we already have a lot of franchise cricket present. The Island nation would be hoping that this league along with Lanka Premiere League 2022 helps them to build a strong team that can perform in all conditions. It won’t be wrong to say that now Cricket has started taking giant steps towards franchise cricket which is a dangerous sign for ICC tournaments.
