With Corey Davis back on Sunday, the Mike White era will start with the receiving corps’ de facto leader back in place.
Though Davis’ status as the Jets’ No. 1 wideout might be in name only by this point, his return from a knee injury suffered in Week 7 against Denver will be big for White and the Jets nonetheless. The Jets badly missed Davis last week in particular, when their passing offense could not get going during an abysmal 10-3 loss in New England.
“Just the professionalism, the detail, the walkthrough, the deliberateness at which he goes about every rep,” Jets coach Robert Saleh said. “It’s such a high regard for Corey and his professional manner. Him lining up, getting other people lined up, there’s a calm with him in the huddle cause we are young at the receiver spot. When he’s in there, he’s kinda directing traffic and he’s talking to people and then the way he practices.

“I know from a stat standpoint, fantasy wise, you may look at it and say he’s not doing much, but he’s by far one of our more productive receivers, just because of what he does not just on the field but off the field.”
The 27-year-old wideout has 19 receptions for 351 yards this season in seven games, though he played just 13 snaps against Denver before getting hurt.
Guard Nate Herbig (shin) will also play on Sunday, Saleh confirmed, with tight end Kenny Yeboah (calf) out.
On defense, Sauce Gardner (calf) is expected to play with Sheldon Rankins (elbow) out.
