MI Women registered a resounding victory over Gujarat Giants (GG). MI Women won the match by 55 runs and now have won 5 back-to-back matches in WPL 2023 & are yet to lose a match in the tournament. GG skipper Sneh Rana would be shell-shocked as there was no intent shown by the batters while chasing 163 runs. Sneh Rana had a decent outing with the bowl where she took 1 wicket & gave away 17 runs in 4 overs.
GG would need a massive turnaround as with this defeat, they are placed in 4th position with 1 win from 5 matches. With only 3 matches left in the league stage for GG, it’s a must-win kind of situation for the team. Perhaps, GG need to use Sophia Dunkley in the middle order & promote Harleen Deol at the top of the order.

“I am proud of the girls for restricting MI to 162, it was a good start, but unfortunately we couldn’t get there. It was a chaseable score. Definitely, batters need to focus right through, need to build at least two partnerships, Harleen was fantastic today in the field, she took a catch and effected a run-out. We will definitely work on our batting.” said Sneh Rana.
